Event Report: Matlantis User Conference 2024
On October 2, 2024, PFCC hosted its first user community event, the “Matlantis User Conference 2024.” Thanks to the cooperation of our users, the event was a great success. The theme of this event was “Paradigm Shift in Materials Development: How Matlantis is Revolutionizing R&D,” featuring lectures from users who regularly employ Matlantis, sharing their case studies and transformative research and development episodes.
On the day of the event, nearly 200 users from 72 organizations, including companies and research institutions from across the country, gathered at the venue in Shinagawa. Individuals passionate about bringing transformative changes to materials development through computational chemistry engaged in lively discussions on topics such as case studies of Matlantis utilization, implementation processes, and the dissemination and educational activities of computational chemistry and materials informatics technologies within their organizations. We received numerous positive comments from participants, such as, “I was surprised by the number of users,” and “It was great to hear about other companies’ utilization cases, which we usually don’t have access to.”
We are delighted that the event provided participants with an opportunity to envision the future of materials science. We plan to continue facilitating communication among users through events like this user conference. For those who could not attend this time, we look forward to meeting you at the next opportunity.
