Message from the CEO
Our mission is to realize a sustainable world by enabling the creation of innovative materials. To that end, we have developed services by combining the strengths of Preferred Networks' AI technology and computing infrastructure, and ENEOS' knowledge and know-how in the chemical field.
While computational chemistry has achieved great results, it has traditionally faced significant challenges: calculations are time-consuming, methods require problem-specific specialization, and dedicated high-performance computing environments are essential. As a cloud service, our general-purpose atomic-level simulator, Matlantis™, overcomes these hurdles. It features a high-speed, universal calculation engine and is accessible directly from a browser, eliminating the hassle of environmental setup. We believe that Matlantis will not only help to clarify experimental results in materials development, but also to discover and invent new materials and elucidate unknown principles.
We are committed to providing materials researchers around the world with unprecedented and powerful tools to help them discover the revolutionary materials that can change the future of the world for the better.
Taking Materials Science to the Next Level
In this video, CEO Okanohara talks about Matlantis' potential and advances in materials science.
Representative Profile
Daisuke Okanohara
- CEO of Matlantis Corporation
- Representative Director, Chief Research Officer, and Co-Founder Preferred Networks, Inc.
He received his PhD in Information Science and Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2010. In 2006, while still a graduate student, he co-founded Preferred Infrastructure, Inc., the predecessor to Preferred Networks, with Toru Nishikawa and others. In March 2014, he founded Preferred Networks to accelerate the practical application of AI. As the company's Chief Research Officer, he has led the research, development, and commercialization of core technologies, including generative AI.
Recognizing the innovative potential of AI in materials science, he drove the commercialization of '"Matlantis," a general-purpose atomic-level simulator jointly developed by Preferred Networks and ENEOS. He now serves as President and CEO of Matlantis Corporation, where he aims to revolutionize materials development through computational science.
