Material design experience event with Matlantis held at Kyoto University

At the Fukui Kenichi Memorial Research Center's 2024 Basic Chemistry Course for Industrial Applications※1,Lectures and practical training using MatlantisTM were jointly conducted by ENEOS Corporation and Kyoto University's Fukui Kenichi Memorial Research Center. Approximately 30 students and corporate researchers participated in this event, both online and offline.

In this lecture, Matlantis was introduced as a cutting-edge simulation technology that efficiently analyzes the behavior of atoms and molecules. Specifically, it was presented as an "AI force field" that utilizes machine learning. It was explained that by using an AI force field, simulations can be started at much higher speeds and without the need for advanced expertise compared to conventional methods, leading to innovative material design.

Following the lecture, a hands-on session titled "Let's Create the Strongest Deodorizer!" was held, utilizing Matlantis for group work. Participants leveraged their knowledge and intuition to design an ideal molecule that could easily capture ammonia molecules, competing with each other. Each group then showcased the deodorizer they had completed in the simulation.

We PFCC also aim to further revitalize industry-academia collaboration through Matlantis, and we hope to support innovative research and development that will drive the next generation. We sincerely wish that the new knowledge gained and the networks formed during this course will lead to future achievements for all participants.

We will continue to contribute to the revitalization of industry and the further advancement of science and technology through diverse initiatives utilizing Matlantis.
