[PFCC Webinar] Strategy for strengthening the ability to generate new themes in materials development - How to cross the devil's river in the age of AI -

PFCC will hold a webinar in which PFCC's Torii will give a presentation titled "Strategy for strengthening the ability to create new themes in materials development - How to cross the devil's river in the AI era."

Overview of the Webinar

One of the missions of research and development is to create new themes that will lead to the next business. In the process of bringing technology to market, it is said that there are three difficult points called the "Devil's River," "Valley of Death," and "Darwin's Sea." In particular, the Devil's River, which is the phase that connects research to development, is an extremely uncertain area in which it is necessary to search for a good combination of countless elemental technologies and potential customer needs, and how to overcome this is an important challenge for material manufacturers. In this seminar, we will break down the Devil's River into two information processing steps, discuss the direction of measures and the scope for AI use for each step, and introduce how computational chemistry and materials informatics (MI), which have been attracting attention in recent years, can contribute to this. Finally, we will introduce our Matlantis, a computational chemistry material design tool that utilizes AI technology.

Preferred Computational Chemistry, Inc.
CEO Office Corporate Planning Team

After graduating from the University of Tokyo Graduate School, he was involved in element development using optical simulations at the Materials Business Division of ENEOS Corporation (now ENEOS Materials Corporation). Alongside research and development, he was also involved in organizational efforts to create new themes, and later participated in a restructuring project in the Business Planning Department of the same business division. He is currently engaged in business strategy formulation and marketing at PFCC, aiming to expand Matlantis globally.
